Meet Nino

Global Project Engineer

I work as a Global Project Engineer for Frese's Marine & Industrial division and have been with the company for 3 years. I was hired directly after completing my master's degree, during which I wrote a thesis on Frese's innovation processes.

The key word for me is "Development." While it can mean different things to different people, for me, it represented a dream strong enough to justify a complete shift in my professional life.

After seven years as an accountant, I participated in an audit at Frese Metal & Steel Foundry and was blown away by the technology and innovation I experienced there. I felt a strong need to be part of something developmental—whether in product, business, or process. The principles are the same. It's about building something and moving from one place to another. That’s what drives me, so I decided to become an engineer.

My engineering studies at the University of Southern Denmark eventually led me back to Frese, where I wrote my thesis on the development and commercialization of an energy-saving cooling system concept for marine vessels. After graduating with a Master of Science in Engineering (Product Development and Innovation), I signed my new contract as a Global Project Engineer, Marine & Industrial, at Frese two days later.

A large part of my work revolves around Frese's patented energy-efficient cooling system for engine rooms, called Frese FUELSAVE. Here, I help further develop sales tools used for business cases, prepare business cases for customers, inspect ships for installation possibilities, and manage projects for won cases.

Frese is an exciting place to work. You work in an international environment with great openness to new ideas and initiatives. It’s largely about freedom with responsibility. Flexibility is key, allowing you to pick up your kids and organize your daily life. In short, it's about balance in everyday life, and you find that when you work at Frese.
