The New Kirk Kapital headquarters, called Fjordenhus, was built right on the waterfront in Vejle, and opened on June 9th 2018.
The world-famous Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson is the creative force behind the building as well as the artworks which decorate it. The 9,000 sqm building consists of four joined cylinders and stands 28 meters tall. The ground floor is open to the public, while Kirk Kapital’s offices occupy the top three floors. The roof is covered by plants and solar cells.
Frese worked with VVS Soberg to make both heating and cooling systems function optimally in order to maximize comfort and match the building. The lowest possible energy consumption was also vital in making Fjordenhus into an environmentally friendly building for the future.
Frese OPTIMA Compact PCIV and Frese SIGMA Compact, a dynamic balancing valve, were used in both cooling and heating systems. They help to prevent overflow and ensure the correct volume of water in all units. For this project Frese OPTIMA Compact has been combined with an actuator to provide electronic modulation (CTS).
Guided tours of the ground floor can be booked through VejleMuseerne.
