Marketing Manager
Want to work for one of the global market leading HVAC valve manufactures and play an instrumental role in improving its brand position in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan? We are looking for an experienced Chinese Marketing Manager to join our Chinese operations located in Ningbo, Zheijang Province.
As the Marketing Manager for our Chinese operations you will be responsible for creating and implementing annual marketing plans in close collaboration with our local salesforce and the Group Marketing Director and Sales Director.
Main purpose of job
- The role holder will be responsible for creating and implementing the marketing strategy for Mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong as well as supporting business development initiatives that yields significant market share gains.
- As Frese’s marketing leader in the Chinese region you will lead the promotion of Frese products and assist sales in influencing customer decisions on product selection and vendor, and you will engage in Voice of Customer (VoC) conversations/interviews to better understand and influence customers.
- Identification of sales opportunities through effective market analysis, project/opportunity tracking as well as development and implementation of promotional activities.
- You will be reporting to the Group Marketing Director with a strong dotted line to the General Manager in our Ningbo facility
Accountabilities
- Carry out market assessments/analysis within the region to provide the leadership with clear guidance on where to focus its efforts from both a strategic and tactical perspective.
- Undertake VoC interviews and use these insights to formulate winning value propositions and key messages in all local customer facing communication and activities.
- Localize “corporate” marketing collateral to our sales team and distributors, and manage our Chinese language online presence. (Chinese part of our website and relevant Chinese social media platforms)
- Manage the Product Manager. (in process of being recruited)
- Develop and implement marketing/advertising campaigns and take ownership of tradeshows and customer seminars held throughout the year.
- Create and monitor marketing budget, manage activities and monitor spend against forecast.
What we are looking for
The right candidate for this role will:
Essentials
- As a minimum have a Bachelor degree in engineering and/or marketing
- Experience with B2B marketing in the building construction industry
- Ability to analyse and interpret large quantities of data to produce relevant insights
- Extrovert personality, comfortable with interviewing/talking to customers
- Experience with Adobe Desktop Publishing Software, especially Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Chinese and good English skills
- Good documentation skills, with strong attention to detail
- Energetic and self-starter personality – persistent and result oriented
Desirables
- Experience with valve or pump technology in a Hydronic/HVAC context
- Experience in working in a “cross culture” environment i.e. work experience from a Multinational Company would be preferred
- High level of IT literacy especially regarding common software used for market analysis, presentations, project and customer tracking. Knowledge of Microsoft CRM Dynamics is an advantage
- Knowledge off and/or relationships with construction consultancies, design agencies and/or mechanical electrical plumbing contractors (MEP’s)
- Complexity and creativity
- Structured pro-active lead generation/project tracking haven’t been tried before and hence should be managed carefully, through a well thought out engagement plan, to obtain strong support/buy-in from the General Sales Manager and his team.
- As a Small Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) budget restrains sometimes occur and hence cost-effective creative problem-solving abilities is always appreciated.
- Self-steering in scoping and realizing the major objectives, projects and improvements to be made

The Package
We appreciate that to get the right talent, we must offer a compelling package. So, in addition, to the salary itself, the package will entail a bonus scheme, social charges (pension fund, housing fund, unemployment fund medical and injury insurance), mobile phone reimbursement and several social activities including an annual company tour.
Travel
Domestic and international travel should be expected, but will be occasional and planned well in advance.
