Frese was founded 75 years ago in 1944 when Børge Frese established a modest foundry in a basement in Slagelse, Denmark where the Frese head office and main manufacturing facilities are still located today.
In the very beginning the foundry produced small machined metal products, aluminium pots and pans, bronze candlesticks and door knockers.
Today, Frese continues the tradition of being a family-owned business, with Børge Frese’s grandchildren;
Kim, Claus and Tina Frese all holding leading operational positions within the business.
With 75 years of knowledge and experience in the field of specialist sand castings, Frese provides customers with customised solutions for the most demanding of applications in a range of alloys including bronze, nickel-aluminium bronze, stainless steel and duplex steel.
Supplying component solutions to a number of market segments, including the marine and offshore industries, Frese offer a range of services including pattern design and production, MAGMA-soft® simulation, 3D mould printing, machining, certified quality inspection and supply chain management.
During the 1960s, Frese invested heavily in a new venture – advanced valve production machinery.
This was the beginning of the success story behind the innovative dynamic valves that Frese develops and produces today.
To protect the innovative new valve technology, Frese registered world patents on key valve designs. Since the first valve patent, several new generations of dynamic balancing valve have been developed and patented throughout the last three decades. Continuously offering our customers improved performance and efficiency as well as competitive pricing.
Frese was one of the first companies to introduce the pressure independent control valve to the market.
Today our focus is still to ensure the continuous development of our existing portfolio whilst expanding the use of our dynamic valve technology into new heating and cooling applications.
In recent times, we have also entered entirely new segments beyond the traditional HVAC industry, including sectors such as marine, district energy, data centers and industrial process cooling.

Our products are manufactured using high quality components and fully tested prior to release for dispatch.
The valve factories are certified in accordance with DS/EN ISO 9001:2015.
