The new range of ALPHA automatic commissioning valves offer significant benefits, both commercial and technical, over traditional static commissioning valves and existing variations of automatic balancing valves available in the UK market today.
With its patented interchangeable fixed orifice design, the ALPHA cartridge provides complete system flexibility whilst maintaining design flow rate to +/-5% accuracy, independent of any pressure changes within the system. Technical features of the cartridge include a reinforced EPDM diaphragm to ensure silent operation, an interchangeable orifice providing flexibility in the event of design changes, a fixed orifice which isn’t susceptible to dirt problems unlike a variable orifice design, and a flow range of 0.015 l/s to 967l/s.
The ALPHA FOABV are only required at each terminal such as a fan coil, therefore major cost savings are gained from lower material costs due to the removal of branch, riser and mains valves from the system. Installation time is also reduced as there are fewer products to install.
Significant cost savings come from the reduced commissioning time. Only the valve at the index circuit requires commissioning, providing this unit has the required differential pressure from the pump, all the other FOABV in the system closer to the pump will be balanced.
Sizes 1/2” to 2” are available in DZR material, PN25 pressure rating, in both standard Y pattern and Y pattern with integral isolation valve. Sizes 50mm to 800mm are available in Ductile Iron, PN25 pressure rating, wafer pattern.
